It's not Often I Return Books Unfinished...

Book Review: The Last Testament by David Javerbaum

Book Cover: The Last Testament by David Javerbaum

I began this book like any other, with an open mind and an eagerness to get connected with the narrator and characters. That never happened. I tried to start the book multiple times and just didn't enjoy the narrator or story line. It's a satire on religion that, for me, was hard to listen to. A narrator change might have made a big difference, but who knows. You can't win them all.

About Book Review Rating and Awards

Best of Rating and Stars

What are the Stars?

Books may be rated 1-5 stars. 1 star being the lowest possible rating and 5 stars being the highest. Books that have not been read do not have a rating.

Every book review may have an overall rating, a performance rating, and a story rating. The overall rating takes into account both the story and performance. The Performance rates the narrator, if the book was reviewed as an audible book. The story rating is for the book overall.

Books are not graded by spelling or grammatical errors, although poor performance or books that are hard to read may factor in layout. If something stands out, this will generally be mentioned in the review.

    PODCAST REVIEW : Listen
Jennifer Nicole Lee means well and is a very inspirational athlete, but this is a book that is hard to listen to (narrated). I had a few very inspirational moments from this book, which I mention in the podcast, but overall this is not a good audible book. It is probably a better read. Jennifer Nicole Lee is a motivational speaker, and an inspiration to many women. Watch her videos. Her voice never changes pitch, she yells at you the WHOLE TIME! She basically says she cares, believes in you and that you need to believe in yourself and be focused over and over and over and... OVER. I don't need her to motivate me, I want recipes, real tips, thoughts and feedback about training daily. Stuff I could of got for free off bodybuilding dot com, but thought would be good to listen to in a book. I'm glad she loves her job but she is a bit negative and condescending despite saying shes not.

BOOK REVIEW: A Total Waste of Makeup: Charlize Edwards, Book 1 UNABRIDGED by Kim Gruenenfelder

Book Review A Total Waste of Makeup Charlize Edwards Kim Gruenenfelder

"Returning the book - A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME"

Overall
Performance
Story

It's a bit of a shot at the 20 something life style with a cheap love story. The hook is missing an ending.  I couldn't get attached to the narrator. If you are looking for a love story full of fashion try the Shopaholic series.

I hated this book and could not recommend it. It is one of the few books I've returned. I don't want to book bash so I'm going to make this short. It lacked substance.

Book Review: Gay Dinosaur & Unicorn Erotic Fiction #books

This is another book series that I HAVE NOT READ. I'm not sure I ever will, but it was referred to me after my last post on the book about the demon vagina (seriously, it's weird and the description is worth reading - the book itself I can not speak for). I had a good laugh and then reread the description once or twice.

BOOK REVIEW: Study Guides in Astrology: Predictive Astrology: Love and Relationships: Indicators of Togetherness and Separation UNABRIDGED by Lauren Delsack

"Horrible listen only for astrologists"
Overall
Performance
Story
She jumps right in telling you what "clients" will be looking for and never explains any terms or phrases just assumes you know how to read them and just need explanation. I listened for 14 minutes before shutting it off. The background echos and sounds like a lecture.
